The nearest towns are Paderborn, Bielefeld, and Hanover further away. It is 700 km from Verrières (almost all motorway).
It is located in a very flat coutryside in the middle of the Senne moor. It is somebow like a country centre as there are no big towns nearby. There are still agricultural and cattle-breeding activities but Hövelhof has managed to attract a number of small entreprises, causing no trouble to the environment.
The population speak very good german and generally speaking are fond of country life, disciplined and very respectful of tradition. Hövelhof has good sports equipments and good cultural activities.
